Safe Church trainingSaturday, September 29 Representatives from several local churches, including St Agnes, attended a morning training session in our hall on the diocesan Sexual Misconduct Policy. Led by Archdeacon Stephen Muir and Brenda Stenson of St Catherine's, the workshop taught participants about the definitions of the types of sexual misconduct, how to identify them and the appropriate responses. Harvest Thanksgiving serviceSunday, October 7 The Thanksgiving holiday is on Monday, October 8, so our Harvest Thanksgiving service will be next Sunday, October 7. Our tradition at St Agnes is to assist the Altar Guild with decorating the church. Contributions of decorative corn, fresh produce or other decorations are most welcome. For more information please contact our Altar Guild chair, Susan Christou or call the office 604 987-0432. Edible items will be give to Sharing Abundance to support their meal programs. We will also receive donations to support Sharing Abundance: canned tuna or salmon, canned fruits and vegetables, or other non-refrigerated items are most welcome. Also encouraged are gift cards from your favorite grocery store which are used to buy perishable items on the day of use. Next week: Soup SundaySunday, October 07 at 11:30AM Join us after the 10:15 AM service on the first Sunday of the month for a delicious bowl of homemade soup, a fresh baked bun, coffee or tea along with some friendly companions. Our Deacon Lizz Lindsay provides the soup as part of her food outreach ministry, Sharing Abundance. A freewill collection is taken up in support of Sharing Abundance.
