Happy Victoria Day
This weekend, we hope, marks a turning point in the COVID-19 saga we have all been living through. Dr Bonnie Henry is relaxing some restrictions, and some business will start to open next week. Although Dr Henry is allowing church services of up to 50 people under certain conditions, we are awaiting policy guidance from Archbishop Melissa. A new policy will be issued next week. Once the details are known, we can begin to make plans to resume in-person services. Currently, in-person services are not allowed until June 14 at the earliest. In the meantime, we will continue with our Zoom service at 10:15 on Sunday which is recorded and posted to Youtube for later viewing. I hope you have an enjoyable long weekend. Ben is leavingLast Sunday will be May 31 We are sad to announce that our musician for the past three years, Ben Dobyns, is leaving to work for a church within walking distance of his home. We have really enjoyed Ben's contributions to our liturgical life. He has introduced a lot of new music into our repetoire and has displayed tremendous musical range from classical to jazz on piano and organ. We will miss his family, Norita and Kathleen, and wish them all well. Ben has three more Sundays with us, his last being May 31. He has offered to prerecord some hymns for our use after he has gone. So, here is an opportunity for the community: please send in your hymn requests to priest@saintagnes.ca by noon on Wednesday, May 20. Also, as we don't have a card to sign, please send your messages to Ben via priest@saintagnes.ca. I will combine them all and send them to him on your behalf. |
