Happy Epiphany!
I hope the Christmas season was a time of rest and renewal for you. Shannon and I took a few days off for a 'staycation' and also had time with family and friends. Now, following the Twelve Days of Christmas comes the Feast of the Epiphany when we recount the story of the three Wise Men (or 'Magi', or 'Kings') who arrive from the east with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh for the infant Jesus. With this story it feels like the season of Christmas is finally "done." The liturgical calendar continues as we count the 'Sundays after the Epiphany' until the beginning of Lent on March 6 with Ash Wednesday. We have many special things planned as we begin 2019, including our first Soup Sunday of the year which will be this Sunday. See the notices below for some suggestions about your New Years' Resolutions and other happenings. Happy New Year! Stephen+
