Holy Week
This Sunday we mark the beginning of Holy Week with the Sunday of the Passion: Palm Sunday. The readings take us from the palm procession of Jesus to Jerusalem through the events of Good Friday and the crucifixion. We hear the Passion narrative from Mark's Gospel. On Thursday we celebrate Maundy Thursday with a simple service in the church beginning at 4 PM. The liturgy concludes with the stripping of the altar and the church in preparation for Good Friday. The Good Friday service will be at 10 AM and will include the reading of the Passion narrative from the Gospel of John. Here are some other ways to observe Holy Week: There is a daily service offered by Christ Church Cathedral with on-line access here: https://www.thecathedral.ca/news/holy-week-services St Catherine's is offering an art exhibit of Argentinian sculptor and architect Adolfo Pérez Esquivel of the stations of the cross. The paintings are influenced by Liberation Theology. The prints of the original art will be on display in the church on Good Friday from 11 am to 5pm. Event by donation.
