The North Vancouver-Vancouver based Lions Gate Brass was formed at our first sight-reading rehearsal on December 30th, 2019 at Sutherland Church in North Vancouver. The quintet then settled into its home rehearsal space in the sanctuary of Saint Paul’s Anglican Church in Downtown Vancouver’s West Side. Since July 2021 the Brass has made its home in Saint Agnes Anglican Church, North Vancouver. The group’s name—Lions Gate Brass—came about because members would have to traverse the Lions Gate Bridge to rehearse in either North Vancouver or Vancouver’s West End.
