Trinity Sunday
This Sunday is Trinity Sunday. The doctrine of the Holy Trinity has its basis in scripture but was only later more fully developed. It is an attempt to express something of the mystery of God who is known to us as "Father, Son and Holy Spirit." Contemporary attempts to express this mystery in more inclusive language include "Creator, Redeemer and Sustainer" or "Source of all being, eternal Word and Holy Spirit." These attempts all reveal the limitations of language in expressing the inexpressibe mystery of God. See the link below for an interesting and informative article on the doctrine of the Trinity in the on-line Encyclopedia Britannica. This Sunday also features the story of the seven days of creation from Genesis. It will be read in sections by three different readers: Liz Young, Marilyn Watson and Anne Campbell. Which is your favorite day of creation? Liz will also be leading the Intercessory prayers. Please send her your prayer requests today to pholcus36@gmail.com for inclusion on Sunday.

Survey
Thank you to everyone who has responded to the community survey. If you haven't responded, please do it now! It will only take a couple of minutes. We value your input! The survey will be open until Monday at noon. Thanks! One issue the survey has caught is a concern about the recording and posting of the social part of the Sunday service. Some people are concerned that confidential information may be shared. In order to address this concern, the social chat which follows the conclusion of the service will no longer be recorded. Urban Aboriginal Ministry
In the time before COVID-19, we had scheduled a special fund raising concert on May 15 to support the Urban Aboriginal Ministry. The concert was cancelled due to the pandemic. The work of the Urban Aboriginal Ministry has continued during the pandemic, and many people have been helped. See their recent newsletter and consider making a donation to this important ministry of the Diocese of New Westminster.
