Mousa's family has finally arrived!!!!

Mousa's family has finally arrived!!!!

Mousa's family arrived from Lebanon this week, after many false starts. There were more hiccups on the way to the airport when their driver did not arrive! They found a cousin with a van who drove them and they made it on time. After a very long day of air travel they arrived safely in Vancouver. There were many smiles and big hugs all around. They are absolutely lovely people. A huge thank you to everyone who has helped to keep them safe and bring them to Canada. They will be wonderful Canadians!

Summer Bible Series

Summer Bible Series

Thursday evenings beginning August 8

Discover the Good News in the Bible’s earliest Gospel.

Fr Stephen will lead the discussion as we walk through the Bible’s earliest source for the life of Jesus with scholar Amy-Jill Levine as she examines John the Baptizer, the Little Apocalypse, the Transfiguration, and several of Jesus's most notable stories and parables. The Good News of the gospel message comes alive in this book as readers see Jesus as divine and human, powerful and weak, approachable yet mysterious. The book features an in-depth study of select passages and illuminates the Gospel in its historical context and as a source for the other gospels.

Thursday evenings from 7-8:30.

August 8 at the home of Barbara Sage, 1217 Grand Blvd

August 15 at the home of Eric Bozman, 3130 Canfield Crescent

August 22 at the home of Marilyn Sharples, 3025 Princess Avenue

August 29 at the home of Jean Kyle, 1257 Eastview.

Please sign up on the form at the church. You don't need the book to enjoy the course, but it is a great resouce which you can buy on Amazon using the link below.

Lectionary Bible Study

Resumes on August 7 at 11 am on Zoom

Join us for a weekly opportunity to read the lectionary readings for the upcoming Sunday. Fr Stephen leads the discussion to help us gain better insight into the readings.

The lectionary follows a schedule and usually includes a passage from the Hebrew scriptures, an epistle (letter) from the New Testament, and a reading from one of the four Gospels. You can find the readings here.

No specialized knowledge is required and all are welcome to participate.

To get the Zoom information, please send Fr Stephen an email: priest@saintagnes.ca.
