PilgrimageSaturday, September 10 We are invited to join a pilgrimage journey. We will meet at St Catherine's, Capilano at 9:15 am and then proceed to St. Martin's, St. Clement's, St. Agnes' and St. John's, the latter of which was first established in 1899 and was the "mother church" of the other Anglican churches in North Vancouver. We will make 'pilgrim stops' at each parish for refreshments and to give thanks for the ministry of each place. We plan to arrive at St. John's by 1 pm, where lunch will be served. Introduction to Centering Prayer
Centering Prayer is a contemporary method of silent prayer, developed by the American Trappist monk, Thomas Keating. It prepares us to receive the gift of contemplative prayer, prayer in which we experience God’s presence within us, closer than breathing, closer than thinking, closer than consciousness itself. This method of prayer is both a relationship with God and a discipline to foster that relationship. Click the link below to watch her 30 minute introduction to the practice of Centering Prayer.
